Department 7 - Research Funding and Support

Research is one of the central tasks of Universities of Applied Sciences.

The team of department 7 “Research Funding” supports researchers at Bochum University of Applied Sciences in various projects and inquiries related to research and transfer - both in a national and international context.

Our support focuses on the acquisition and management of research projects and the exploitation of research results. Here, we advise the university's scientists on managing inventions and applying for intellectual property rights, as well as on start-up projects. We also support the development of early-career researchers.

The department is divided into three main areas:

Further insights into the main areas

What are the main tasks in the department of "Third-Party Funding Management"? What specific areas of activity are covered by “Research and Transfer”? And what happens at THALESruhr's Transfer Hub?

Third-Party Funding Management

The department of Third-Party Funding Management is responsible for and handles the financial administration of projects funded by external sources. THALESruhr Transfer Hub

As a central transfer service and management unit, the “THALESruhr Transfer Hub” combines the HSBO's existing transfer services. It also develops new formats for providing advice and networking for internal and external stakeholders, such as the MachMobil, the MachBar and the THALESruhr Sustainability Alliance ("Nachhaltigkeitsallianz THALESruhr").

The aim is to integrate interactive and agile technology solutions from the university community into the local economy and society. To achieve this, the team utilizes interactive and flexible formats to strengthen the connections with cities, citizens, companies, and other stakeholders in the region. In addition, the Transfer Hub will ensure professional impact assessment and quality assurance of such transfer activities in the future.
