Sustainability in practice at our university

Workshop „Nachhaltige Hochschule Bochum"

Through the open workshop "Sustainable University Bochum," we engaged in a direct dialogue with internal and external stakeholders of the university, including employees, students, and external partners. The workshop provided all participants with the opportunity to actively contribute to the sustainable development of our university, and by extension, our region. It aimed to strengthen existing partnerships and forge new connections. The topics discussed were aligned with the goal areas of the sustainability strategy.

Networking meeting of the educational projects

The numerous educational research projects play a significant role in the sustainable development of the university. To fully harness the potential of these projects, the "Sustainable University – Strategy, Implementation, Networking" project will organize regular networking meetings among these educational research projects in the future. The aim is to share knowledge and experiences and create a space for new ideas.

The first networking meeting took place on June 7, 2022, behind the D3 building of the university. Through an outdoor gallery walk, participants could gain an overview of the various projects and engage in relaxed conversations with one another. This not only assists students in making their own project choices but also provides students who have been involved in educational research projects for some time with insights into the themes and methods of other projects.

Ideas for collaboration, shared topics, and inspiration for methods were directly documented on two posters. The exchange and resulting ideas create further opportunities to advance sustainable development at the university.
