In the course Precast Concrete Structures of our Master’s program in Civil Engineering at Hochschule Bochum , students recently presented their semester projects.
The task was to design an industrial building made of precast concrete elements in groups of 3-4 students.
The projects addressed the following topics:
- Conceptualization and visualization of the structure
- Dimensioning and calculation of the key components
- Development of joint details • Quantity and effort estimation
- Costing and construction scheduling
A special highlight was the awarding of the FDB sponsorship prize by the Fachvereinigung Deutscher Betonfertigteilbau e.V., which recognizes outstanding achievements and provides valuable acknowledgment for the students' work.
We would like to thank everyone for their participation and congratulate all participants on their excellent presentations and project work.
Of course, special congratulations go to the winning group with Yannick Loock, Marc-Andre Kolos, Kjell Ziegler and Lars Spierings.
We would also like to thank Dipl.-Ing. Dipl.-Wirt. Ing. Elisabeth Hierlein from the FDB for donating the prize and Dipl.-Ing. Dirk Dörr from ft.Engineering for the support and practical promotion of our teaching.
