Concrete Structures

Introduction

Welcome to the website of the group of Concrete Structures.

On the following pages you will find information about our courses and our research projects.

Both in teaching and in research, we deal with reinforced and prestressed concrete structures. Our research focuses on sustainability and conserving natural resources. Current research topics are, for example, the realistic estimation of indirect actions (further information) and geometric optimization of concrete components through the use of void formers (further information).

Realistic FEM simulations are an important tool in many of our research projects. However, we also carry out component tests in almost all of our projects. We have a very well-equipped laboratory for materials and structures (Website LBKI) at our disposal for this purpose.
