On 01.04.2025, the 6th Lightweighting Summit of the Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK) took place as part of the Hannover Messe 2025. The event focused on lightweight construction, with a particular focus on the projects of the “Technology Transfer Program Lightweight Construction (TTP LB)”.
The conference covered various areas of lightweight construction, including aerospace, the automotive industry and the construction industry, and showed how lightweight construction can overcome both ecological and economic challenges in the future. The Institute of Concrete Structures was represented by Thilo Schmidt at the conference, which was attended by well-known representatives from politics, business and science.
In addition to the valuable technical insights, the event offered excellent opportunities for networking and making new contacts.
Over the past three years, the Institute of Concrete Structures has been able to conduct research on inflatable void former matrices for concrete foundations as part of the ‘air-Kon-Matrizen’ project. This joint research project was also funded by TTP LB. Such interdisciplinary research efforts are crucial to driving innovation and shaping a more sustainable future.
We would like to thank the BMWK for the financial support, the successful organization of the event and the valuable impulses!
